Big Announcement!
As our free storage space shrinks by between 4-10GB everyday wowers. We have been looking into a better way to handle how media is shared on the forum, but still make it easy enough for our members to upload and share content.
To solve this issue we are introducing integration with an external host PutMe.ga
Today we have activated an external plug-in that will allow you to upload images to an external host and then automatically have the images (via bbcode) inserted into your posts.
The button is javascript so make sure to not block it with any antivirus or extensions
PutMe.ga supports jpg, png, bmp, gif and webp with a max file size of 20MB.
Registration and Use
To use this external host you will need to register a free account at PutMe.ga
Once registered, you can use the new "Upload Images" button
This will present you with this pop-up which will require you to login if not done so already
Drag and drop your files onto the pop-up and click upload
When uploading is finished, the popup will automatically close and your images will be inserted into your post OGGIES:
Albums
You can also create albums on PutMe.ga similar to Cyberdrop / Pixl etc and share those links on here
Downloading from PutMe.ga
Below are some popular methods we've compiled for downloading albums from PutMe.ga, or any other Chevereto hosted site.
Browser extensions are always a simple solution, and that's no different here. Both sites are built on an open-source image hosting software called Chevereto, so existing extensions created for Chevereto will work to download albums. For the example here, we will use Chevereto download button for Chrome or Chevereto download button for Firefox.
The extensions will add a download button to the top right of the album. It's as simple as that!
The one caveat with this method, is the download button will only download images displayed on each album page. So for large albums you will need to click through the pages at the bottom and click the download button on each one to save the entire album.
Scroll down to the very bottom of the album page and you will see a small number and an arrow to advance to the next page where you can view/download more.
